SILENT AUCTION ITEMS – Oct 3, 2009 at the Cooperfish Calendar Party.   We’re doing this small silent auction to bring a little more action and fun the event.  I don’t expect we’ll be getting top dollar for these items due to the relatively small amount of people attending.  This auction is ”no reserve” so 3 new Cooperfishes(one’s a pretty special Calendar Board) are going out the door along with some cool riders(nothing too fancy) and really really cool ladies vintage wetsuits.

A few of these items look like garage sale treasures.  I expect there will be some good deals here.  Come to the party and place your bid!

Lot 1 -  9′1″ x 22″x 3 3/4″ C2 Logoless. This is the  only actual Calendar Board in the silent auction.  The other 12 Calendar Boards will be auctioned throughout the year on Ebay.

Lot 2 – New 9′10″ Cooperfish Foil II

Lot 3 – New 8′10″ Cooperfish Hornet

Lot 4 – 7′7″ C2 R&D “fin bump” board.  Being auctioned from under my feet.

Lot 5 – Vintage 10′ Con pintail.  One of the two best riding vintage board I’ve ever owned.  Totally repaired and strengthened Cooperfish style(no weight added in restoration).

Lot 6 – Early ’60s Tom Morey “Australian Surf Shop”.  Pintail Pig design with orig (pin)fin boxes at both ends!!  Unrestored condition. Needs care but it’s very solid, no delams. No fin. Pretty damn  rare.

Lot 7 – Pre ’50s Paddleboard. Unrestored. OK condition.

Lot 8 - Claudia’s vintage  green floral wetsuit.  Claudia Verela’s wearing this one in the calendar.

Lot 9 - Womens vintage floral wetsuit collection. 5 wetsuits, great condition.

So we’re having the COOPERFISH CALENDAR PARTYat Hurley Headquarters on 10/03/09.    The party is open to all and we expect it to be a great time.  But we have some important business to take care of also.

We’ve been working with “The Veterans Adaptive Surf Camp” and think that this is a great opportunity to bring them some recognition and also raise some needed operating funds .

The work they do with our Vets of all ages is outstanding.

There will be a RAFFLE to raise $ for VASC and every dollar collected from that raffle will go straight to them.  Our 2010 CALENDAR MODELS will be selling you $1 tickets at the party and the drawing will conclude the evening.

The grand raffle prize is COOPERFISH #1.  The board is pictured below with Scott Mobley who owned it from 1996 thru 2005 and me riding it in the early 90’s.  Scott was a good custodian of the board and four years ago he got CF#1 back to me in trade for a new board.  It’s been hanging in my shop ever since and I’ve always considered Scott and me co-owners.  I gave him a call with my idea about featuring it in this raffle and he was extremely enthusiastic.

Now I don’t know if CF#1 is worth a little or worth a lot but I do know that both Scott and I both love the board. We feel really good about donating CF#1 to such a worthy cause and we hope you’ll feel good about buying those tickets at the party. Bring your dollars for this “cash only” raffle.

Well we’re done shooting and we’re closing in on our deadline to have the calendar available on our webpage by sept 1st .   When we started shooting we were renting heaters and when we finished we were praying for a cool down.  It was a pleasure working with our 6 models,  the first of hopefully a long line of Cooperfish Calendar models.  Get your calendars signed by them at the party at Hurly Headquartes on October 3rd.

The Lurker

You’ve probably figured that our calendar models weren’t chosen for their surfing ability. Our model Jayd decided that if she’s going to be in this calendar she’d improve her skills.

She met up with Team Cooperfish in Ventura today for a surf, it was her 3rd  session ever and we were  impressed.  A great attitude along with natural athletic ability makes her one to watch.  We noticed that there were a few people watching.

CALENDAR MODELS

 06/24/09-  We matched up model Tiffany Selby, makeup artist Christina Schock, and the 4 logoless C2’s for a day long photo sesh.  WoW.  We got great results, we’re in the process of editing now.
